DigestSymlink failed with 10012

Following the upgrade to Windows 10 1709, I have started getting the error message "DigestSymlink() failed with 10012".
What is the cause of this? I can find no reference to the error online.
Thanks.

This is the first time this error surfaced. It means that the item it is reported for is a symbolic link whose destination path (i.e. what it is linking to) is malformed. Not just "non-existent", but in fact improperly formed, e.g. it's something like "C:foo.txt".

And no advice regarding how to fix this? I have 29 of these. As far as I can tell there is no way to determine what is not backing up. These could be critical files. I am beginning to think your software is not what I need to ensure a complete backup of my computers.

I can confirm this. We've now added verbose logging around these errors. The change will be in the next maintenance update, should be out later today or tomorrow the latest.
