Device tracking

From your feature sections on the website, under Device Tracking, you state "Pin backups to specific removable devices so that they will be run only when these devices are present."

I backup to an external drive. When I wake the computer up in the morning, Bvckup 2 indicates that the backup failed x hours ago. I assume this is because the PC is sleeping.

Is the above feature meant to prevent those error messages? If so, how does one set that up? I check the preferences and backup setup and can't find how to do so. I also checked the forum and read about the .ini files, but, again, can't locate any mention.

BTW, is the structure and meaning of the ini file pairs documented anywhere?

Thanks

No, this is not what it is for.

It prevents backups from being run if another device appears in the system under the same drive letter. Also, if your original drive re-appears under a different drive letter, device tracking will automatically reconfigure the job to use it.

You can access it like so - https://bvckup2.com/wip/r71-dev-tracking-3.gif

If your machine is sleeping, the program will not wake it up to run a backup.

Yes, it is. Search for "Managing Bvckup2 configuration" on this page -
