Back up one file

Apologies if I have misunderstood the application.

I'm wanting to back up one file from source to destination.

Both source and destination have the same folders/files. Source folder2 is the same as destination folder4 I.E,

Source: \\network_share\folder1\folder2
Destination: c:\folder1\folder2\folder3\folder4

I only want to sync across one file from source to destination when file1 at source is updated.

When I set the job, file1 is copied across but the rest of the contents in folder4 destination is also updated. If I click on each to exclude it deletes, all contents but updated file1

I want to leave all contents at destination untouched and only sync across the one file.

Help and advise appreciated.

The simplest solution is to set Deleting preference in backup settings to "Keep backup copies", which will effectively disable all deletions on the backup side.

A more elaborate solution is to enable "destination scan filters" [1] and to set them to be in sync with the source filters. This way if you only include one file at source, only its peer copy will be picked up at destination IF it is present.
