Beta Release 56

Added an option for cloning backup jobs - By popular demand :) -

Issues resolved

1. Fixed an issue with copying getting stuck at "Flushing..." - this is as per - there was an issue with detecting the end of file condition when reading from the source file, specific to certain Samba configurations.

2. Fixed the "missed backups" setting not being configurable - this is as per - it wasn't possible to change the "missed backups" option in the UI, the app was ignoring the changes.

3. Fixed an issue with invalid caching of volume information - this is an internal, low-impact issue.

Other changes

Several improvements to the handling of missed backups - previously, a periodic backup would be put into a "missed a run" state only if the app was running, the backup was due and either source or destination was missing. Now the app will also put the backup into this state if it misses a run because the app wasn't running *and* if it is set NOT to run as soon as possible.

If I connect a USB destination device, the log correctly shows Device arrived, and waiting jobs will be queued. If I then do a chkdsk on the drive, it becomes unavailable during the chkdsk, and the queued jobs will fail with a "Destination path is invalid error". However, when  the chkdsk is finished, Bvckup doesn't detect the destination is available again, and so doesn't restart the jobs again.

Can Bvckup be made to detect this and auto-restart the failed jobs ?

I'll have a look.

The app relies on Windows' "device gone/device arrived" notifications to update its internal device list, so it must be not paying attention to some variation of these notification that is sent when chkdsk completes.

When doing a chkdsk, the device/drive letter doesn't disappear, but is locked for exclusive access (I think).

Not sure if there are any notifications or whether waiting on the file handle would work. As a last (not so nice) resort you could poll, but this isn't ideal.

No, there are no notifications. At least nothing documented. I'll dig around a bit more.
