Post-wake-up delay

I'm using Bvckup2 to copy web pages that I am working on over to another system for testing. The other system is running Apache Web server. When I make a change and save the file it is available in seconds to be served by Apache.

Whenever I'm not working the editing computer goes to sleep. When I return I have to sit and wait for 5 minutes before Bvckup2 is ready to start copying files.  Is there a way to shorten this delay?

I found the following lines in  Bvckup2\engine\bvckup2-engine.ini
delay_on_resume   2
delay_on_resume_val   5:5

Is this where I would change this and what do these values mean?

This works great, by the way, without having to FTP the files over to the other system or up to the on-line server until they are ready to go public.

Well spotted :)

"delay_on_resume" controls whether the post-resume delay is enabled.
0 = disabled
1 = enabled
2 = enabled *but only on Windows 8 or newer and with HiberBoot enabled*

"delay_on_resume_val" is an interval in a format <unit>:<value>, whereby
<unit> is
2 for microseconds,
3 for milliseconds,
4 for seconds,
5 for minutes,
6 for hours,
7 for days,
8 for weeks

So 3:45 is "45 milliseconds" and "4:5" is "5 seconds".

In your case you want just to set "delay_on_resume" to 0 and that's it. Just don't forget to shut down the app before making any changes to the .ini or they will be lost.

Excellent and thanks for the detailed information.

This just keeps getting better and better.

Hi Alex,

Quick question: does the .ini file here get replaced during a version update?

Alex Pankratov :

INI files are routinely replaced when the app is running and when it's existing, but the update process itself doesn't touch the INI.

OK, thanks. But any changes I make to this will not be lost by said replacement, right?
