If you run the installer and it quits displaying the following message -

    WinVerifyTrust() failed with 80096005
    File digest is ....

and if you are launching installer off a network share, then you need to copy it first to a local drive and re-launch it from there. In particular, this was reported in a context of Windows 2008, but most likely may apply to other Windows Server versions as well.
